Rising musical comedy duo Griefcat emerged in 2019 when songwriters Annie Nardolilli and Louisa Hall, two natives of Washington, DC, realized their shared appreciation of “hot people with jobs” during their first meeting as performers at the Capitol City Showcase - five years before they actually started a band. 

Now firmly established in front of a diverse and growing global fanbase as laugh-out-loud lyricists unafraid of sonic exploration, Griefcat builds on influences from Tenacious D and “Weird Al” Yankovic to Dolly Parton, Donna Summer and beyond, infusing the result with a healthy dose of Chappell Roan-esque campiness and a talent for tongue-in-cheek sociopolitical commentary — a winning combination they have continued to refine over a string of releases and electric live shows to date.

With a growing list of achievements under their collective belts, including breaking 95m+ views on social media, earning a standing ovation from Simon Cowell during an audition for America’s Got Talent, and receiving critical acclaim from outlets like The Washington Post and Relix Magazine, Griefcat is at an all-time high as they prepare for their biggest year yet. Their highly anticipated new album, Dirty Laundry, drops September 19th, with a series of singles, music videos, and live shows to be announced soon.
